Hope Changes Everything

I almost lost it at the Disney Store today.

instamatical:

Why? I watched a father very firmly tell his little boy “No, you can’t have that Rapunzel dress.” The boy was near tears until his dad continued, “That one’s way too small. Let’s find your size.”

Eventually, the little boy decided against the dress and, with his dad’s blessing, picked out a tiara instead, because “it’s better for everyday.”

Parenting: this guy’s doing it right.

“And it has been
one hell
of a year.
I have worn
the seasons
under my sleeves,
on my thighs,
running down my cheeks.
This is what
surviving
looks like, my dear.”

I do miss the old me… But you know what? That’s okay. It’s okay to miss myself. But I’m me no matter what. Even though I’m sad, sometimes I get angry and have a short temper. Although I get jealous and sometimes I hate myself. I love the new me, because if I don’t love myself, I can’t guarantee that anyone else will.
